Meet the Manager: Jackson Henson
ES GM Jackson Henson
Embassy Suites GM Jackson Henson has been with the company for 11 years! He loves being a part of a family owned company and is very proud of H&B’s accomplishments as a company. I had the chance to catch up with Jackson and ask him some questions about the Hotel industry.
What initially interested you in working in the Hotel Industry and how long have you been working for H&B Hospitality?
I got started in hotels because I needed a job and the HGI was hiring. I quickly fell in love with the variability and the fact that no two days were ever the same. That was just over 11 years ago.
What do you know now that you wish you knew when you first started?
Everything we do is a marathon, not a sprint.
What are you looking forward to professionally?
I think the hotel industry is at a very interesting inflection point as it relates to technology. How do we as hoteliers take advantage of AI and other new forms of technology while keeping our focus on the people at the heart of what we do?
Who has inspired you in your life, and why?
My older brother Blair. He is a thoughtful and conscientious person, and the kind of person that people are naturally drawn to. I am naturally more of an introvert, and have tried to learn as much as I can from him.
What qualities should a team leader have?
Curiosity, consistency, and another word that starts with c.
What would be your ideal way to spend the weekend?
Anything that involves spending time with my wife and two boys.
